We are excited to share that our proposal for a development within the conservation area at the heart of the village of Woodbury, East Devon, has received outline planning approval on behalf of our client Salter Property.

In early 2023, Salter Property approached us to create a unique, community-focused development. From this, the vision for a "co-existence village" was born—blending parkland and heritage to create a place where nature and community thrive together. As a team we navigated challenges, adapted strategies, and developed a distinctive vision that brought the project brief to life.

Inspired by both community and nature, the development at Land off Globe Hill will feature 28 homes alongside interconnected green spaces, preserving existing trees and creating a vibrant community hub. We were truly inspired by the principles of gathering, engaging, communicating, supporting, and celebrating. These community-focused values have been at the heart of client and design team approach, shaping not only the design process but also collaboration with stakeholders throughout the project.

This project is part of a multi-disciplinary heritage collaboration alongside ADAM Architecture and Montagu Evans.
Did you know that every year, 1 in 4 of us will ex Did you know that every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health challenge? That’s the 25% we're talking about. At PLACE By Design, we believe in supporting mental health awareness in tangible ways, which is why we recently celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week with enthusiasm and creativity!
To mark the occasion, we organized a special hashtag
hashtag#WearItGreen day, where our team members raided their closets for all shades of green to show solidarity.
This year's theme for Mental Health Awareness Week was 'movement', and we decided to put our own spin on it. We divided into two teams and embarked on a fun challenge to explore our local area on foot. Armed with a list of pre-determined items, we captured the journey through photographs, resulting in some incredibly creative interpretations of the brief. 📸
But what truly made the day memorable was the laughter. Amidst the silliness and friendship, we bonded over shared experiences and genuine connections. And in the spirit of giving back, the winning team had the honour of nominating local charity hashtag#bristolmind to receive a donation on their behalf. 💚
Wrapping up our adventurous day, we gathered for a delightful lunch at hashtag#thegardenofeastonbristol. It was more than just a meal—it was an opportunity for us to come together, share stories, and bask in the beauty of our surroundings.
As we reflect on Mental Health Awareness Week, we're reminded of the importance of community, laughter, and support. Let's continue to prioritize mental health not just this week, but every day. Together, we can make a difference. 💪

Celebrating the invaluable role of mothers in the Celebrating the invaluable role of mothers in the workplace! We recognize the challenges many mothers face with rising childcare costs and the impact on their careers. At PBD, where half of our women are mothers, this is a topic close to our hearts. That's why we prioritize flexible working arrangements, including regular work-from-home options, and advocate for a healthy work-life balance. We firmly believe that celebrating the remarkable contributions of mothers, and women in general, is not just crucial for equality but also cultivates a more inclusive and supportive work environment for everyone.
