This scheme was a full planning
application for a 190 unit residential units.
The project known as Land at Redwood
Drive & Poplar Close was approved July 2016.
The 6.4 hectare greenfield site is
located to the east of Plympton Town Centre within the district of Chaddlewood.
The scheme will provide much-needed
new homes, including a proportion of affordable homes and a variety of house
types to support the creation of an inclusive community.
The proposed development aims to be of
exemplar urban design and architecture, which will enable sustainable living
and reduced energy consumption.
The development will provide a
high-quality residential environment, which uses land efficiently and supports
a balanced community.
Provision of a new community park
which will act as the green heart of the neighbourhood and provide a focal
point for a range of
community activities. Pre-planning
included extensive community consultation, to create an inclusive design
The scheme also included a Building
for Life 12 review which is a government-endorsed industry standard for
well-designed homes and neighbourhoods.
